- New Transline Resource Operations Director has an excellent track record
In the first of many high profile appointments Transline Resource Group has today announced a key addition to its Sales Team former Blue Arrow Corporate Account Director Jason Richards will be taking up the role of Operations Director responsible for sales with immediate effect.
Jon Taylor, Joint-Managing Director of the leading supply chain recruitment firm says: Were delighted to be able to appoint Jason as Operations Director responsible for sales. He is a glowing endorsement of the quality and experience of our new Sales Team which can now focus on expanding our client base in order deliver our next stage of growth & development.
Jason Richards moves to the company after 17 years with Transline Resources recruitment competitor Blue Arrow where his tenacity and people skills saw him develop from a consultant into a Corporate Account Director responsible for developing the companies 35M DHL contract over a 10 year period.
During his time on the DHL contract he developed a 100-site supply network including 20 on site operations and added a minimum 5M new sales revenue per year for a decade. In his final year there he delivered 25% growth to the account and it is exactly those sort of sales figures which prompted Transline Resource to make him an offer he couldnt refuse.
Blue Arrow were a fantastic company to work for but after 17 years working for them I decided I needed a new challenge, said Jason. After a short search I was offered 4 excellent roles with different recruitment companies but the Transline Resource package was the most attractive because it gave me the most responsibility and was the biggest challenge.
In terms of developing contracts, it is similar to the situation I found myself in with DHL but my brief this time is to diversify the client base and help build a sales team that is the envy of the industry.
The Directors are extremely ambitious and their vision for the company appeals to me greatly. Im sold on them and believe the product is the best in the market so that makes selling a lot easier from my perspective. Fortunately the service isnt a hard sell either as staff are well trained, responsive and excellent with clients. Im very excited by the challenge and am really looking forward to building some solid foundations in the months ahead.
Jason will begin work this week by visiting all driving and industrial sites in the companys 35-office UK-wide network. Hell be getting to know the staff and collecting information on the logistics industry in each individual area.
What Im hoping to do in the first few weeks is identify gaps in the market which our service can capitalise on before developing a detailed UK wide sales strategy. Once that is in place I will build a team capable of enhancing our portfolio with quality contract acquisitions.
Transline Resource Managing Director Paul Beasley says: Weve been aware of Jasons activities for many years and with his addition to the team we believe we now have the requisite skills not only to increase our service offering to clients of all sizes, but also to drive our new-look company forward.
Group Operations Director Mark Elms adds: Jasons appointment is part of our overall strategy to build on our established client base with quality acquisitions. He is very well respected within the industry and possesses exactly the sort of skills we need at this time. I look forward to working with him as we drive the company forward.
Jason will operate out of the companys operational office in Trafford Park, Greater Manchester where ultimately the remainder of the national Sales Team will be based.
