Pregnant MD leads Personnel & Care Bank social care swimming team raising £4,600
Personnel & Care Bank social care swimming team attacked the cold, muddy Thames water 1 mile swim at the large Royal Victoria Dock on Saturday to raise money for their chosen charities Diabetes UK and NACOA (National Association of Children of Alcoholics).
Proud to be part of this fantastic day in the heart of sunny London, 38 year old, 7 months pregnant Janine Desmond committed to the event 5 months ago and set a fast time of 1 hour 2 minutes, with the rest of the team ranging from 25 to 58 year old founder of PCB Rosalind Payne coming in close behind.
“We were amazed to find that out of the 3,500 people swimming PCB were the only ones raising money for Diabetes” said Janine PCB’s Managing Director. “This is a tremendous company team event to take part in and even more satisfying to be able to raise money for our two charities. Thanks to our sponsor many of whom are from recruitment and training sectors".
Diabetes representatives say they are now inspired by PCB team enthusiasm and success to promote this great London event in the future and the team will be feature on their website.
