SEC is a Top 100 Employer for Apprentices

SEC recruitment, the London based professional recruitment specialist, has been recognised in the first ever UK Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list, an exciting new initiative to recognise excellence in businesses that employ apprentices. The 100 employers were announced last night at the annual National Apprenticeship Awards and this recognition quickly follows SEC winning the Best Medium Sized Employer in the London regional apprentice awards in May.

SEC was one of the first recruitment companies in the UK to embrace the national apprenticeships programme. Stuart Britton, Chief Executive of SEC Recruitment says, Our Apprenticeship programme is an integral part of our business and aims to give young people the skills and qualifications needed to succeed in this vibrant industry, earning as they learn. Since we launched our apprenticeship programme in January 2010, we have trained 12 apprentices and seven have graduated to full recruitment consultant status, finding jobs for more than fifty IT, business intelligence and analytics professionals in the last year.

Britton, who started his recruitment career as a trainee in the 1990s, is a passionate supporter of apprentices, promoting the benefits of the programme to REC and APSCo audiences and has been appointed to the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network. Several other recruitment companies have visited SEC to learn from Brittons experience and have now set-up their own apprenticeship programmes.

Britton said We see SEC as the trail blazer for apprenticeship programmes within the recruitment industry. At the last count more than fifty recruitment businesses had established their own apprenticeship programmes following our example. My vision is that apprenticeships will become the standard route for thousands of young people to commence their careers within our industry.
