Specialist teaching recruiter advises schools on impact of AWR

Specialist teaching recruiter, Simply Education has hosted a series of seminars on the new Agency Workers Regulations (AWR), in response to growing calls from teachers throughout the country to clear up the confusion over the impending regulations.
In conjunction with leading recruitment lawyer, Fiona Coombe LLB, the recruiter hosted the Agency Workers RegulationsAre you Ready? seminar at its offices in Bedford on 20th June to advise clients on the new regulations and how they will affect them.

The new AWR will give agency workers the right to the same basic employment and working conditions that permanent staff are entitled to. These include the same rights with regards to pay and holidays after a 12 week period, and will entitle them to use collective facilities, including canteens and childcare facilities, from the first day of their appointment. The main purpose of the AWR is to ensure the appropriate protection of temporary agency workers through equal treatment.

Commenting on the AWR and the seminar, Adam Shulman, Managing Director at Simply Education says: Many of our clients are still very confused about how these new regulations will affect them, and with details still to emerge, we have been working very closely with them to offer assistance and advice. The seminar we held served to educate attendees of the present situation, and as and when new information comes out we will be releasing updates to our client base.

Any news on legislation that comes into effect can be a daunting prospect to those it affects, and we know only too well that when it comes to employment law, you have to be ahead of the game. This is why we have teamed up with employment lawyer specialist, Fiona Coombes LLB.
