FRAGOMEN LLP APPOINTS UK BORDER AGENCY ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

FRAGOMEN LLP APPOINTS UK BORDER AGENCY ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

TO GLOBAL GOVERNMENT RELATIONS TEAM

Appointment announced days after news that Fragomen will acquire CMS Cameron McKenna’s Immigration Practice as part of UK expansion plans

Fragomen, the world's leading provider of global immigration services, today announces it has appointed Ian Robinson, former Assistant Director at the UK Border Agency (UKBA), as a Manager in its London office.

Ian brings to Fragomen a wealth of expertise in immigration policy development and design gained over many years with the UKBA.  Most recently he played a central role in the design and implementation of the UK's much debated policy placing a cap on economic migrants.  Ian has acted as a key business liaison since the introduction of the Points Based System and has worked with companies of all sizes to assess and analyse impacts as new rules and policy have come into force.

Ian will primarily work with our clients in relation to the new immigration requirements and will play a key role in our government relations activities working to ensure that planned immigration policy and the focus to reduce net migration does not fetter UK business recovery, the ability for companies to attract highly skilled talent, and ultimately economic growth.

Alex Paterson, Managing Partner of Fragomen LLP, commented "this is a strategic and important appointment for us and I am delighted Ian is joining Fragomen.  The role he will fill is consistent with our plans to deliver innovative and complementary services to our clients to meet their long term needs.  Ian is well known to the UK business community and is held in very high regard for his passion and commitment to the immigration debate.  We welcome him to Fragomen"
