REC publishes AWR-compliant model contracts as part of members' new Toolkit

The REC has published its extensive suite of updated model contracts as part of its Your AWR Advisor Toolkit which was launched last week.

These model contracts are a key component of the Toolkit which is the final phase of the REC’s campaign to help its members prepare their staff, agency workers and clients for the implementation of the Regulations on October 1 this year.

The model contracts, which are free to REC Corporate Members, include: PAYE terms of engagement (agency workers) and the related client terms, contracts for limited company contractors who are agency workers for the purposes of the Regulations as well as for genuinely self-employed people who are not agency workers. Finally there are also Swedish derogation contracts, (client and employee terms). All of these are supplemented by a Key Changes document.

Commenting on their publication, Lewina Farrell, the REC’s Head of Professional Services, said: “It has been a mammoth task for our legal team to bring up to date all the model contracts to make them AWR compliant. We had been working on the contracts for some considerable time to ensure they were all fit for purpose for our members.”

Lewina Farrell advises recruiters in Northern Ireland that they would be receiving their final documents from the REC once the Department of Employment and Learning (DELNI) has finalised its AWR guidance.

Copies of the model documents are available free to Corporate Members as part of the REC’s Your AWR Advisor Toolkit by visiting www.rec.uk.com/awr.
