LOCAL BUSINESSES LEARN ABOUT NEW REGULATIONS OVER BREAKFAST SEMINAR

Local businesses are now well prepared for the new Agency Workers Regulations which come into force on October 1st, after attending a free seminar hosted by Poole recruitment specialists, Jobshop UK.

The AWR Seminar, which was held at the RNLI College, and co-hosted by Coles Miller Solicitors, was attended by representatives in both the private and public sector of local businesses all keen to learn more about the new regulations, which will give agency workers increased rights and benefits in the workplace.

With everyone tucking into complimentary breakfast baps,  Neil Andrews, partner at Coles Miller, kicked off proceedings by talking about the background which has led up to the new Agency Workers Regulations being introduced, followed by Dominic Tomkins, solicitor at Coles Miller, to explain the legal aspects of the AWR in more depth.

After a coffee break, it was time to put everyones knowledge to the test, when Frances Miles and Tracey Woods, Directors of Jobshop UK, put some tricky and interesting scenarios to the audience, to work on in groups.

Frances and Tracey also discussed the new Customer Management System with a special AWR feature their Company has invested in to help them implement procedures and  accurately record and track AWR information.

Feedback from the seminar was very positive, with Mary Stepin of East Borough Housing Trust commenting, “A fantastic morning and extremely useful.”

David Chalcroft of Griffin & King thanked Jobshop for a “very interesting and informative” presentation.

In order to help businesses assess how the new Regulations might affect them, Jobshop are  offering a free service to carry out impact assessments for any company who uses temporary staff and may have concerns.  For more information employers can call 01202 67 44 88.
