A GLOBAL recruitment company is bringing its experience in the oil and gas sector to the Aberdeen market by opening its first premises in the city.

Morson International, which operates in eight major hubs, is now based on Rubislaw Terrace and is aiming to establish itself in the oil capital of Europe.

The firm, which was originally formed in 1969, will create around 20 new jobs following its Aberdeen expansion plan adding to its overall staff numbers of 600.

Morson also has more than 11,000 contractors placed across many worldwide locations and will have hundreds of contractors working out of its Aberdeen base.

The group posted turnover figures in excess of &pound450million in its last financial year.

The new office is being led by branch manager Sarah Hutcheon who has more than 10 years’ experience in oil and gas recruitment.

“Morson represents an exciting opportunity to further develop its brand and presence in Aberdeen,” said Sarah.

“It is an exciting time for the company and we are all looking forward to the undoubted challenges that the move will present.

“But those challenges will also come with opportunities and we as a company are well served to make the most of them.”

Morson International chief executive Ged Mason said: “This move will help us to further build on our considerable story of rapid growth and success.

“Aberdeen represents a buoyant marketplace where we feel we can succeed by bringing our oil and gas experience to the table.”

Morson Group operates through two main subsidiaries, Morson International, providing specialist engineering and technical personnel and Morson Projects Limited, which provides outsourced engineering and project management design services.

Nuclear, aerospace, rail, power and engineering are Morson’s core markets. Other areas of expertise include telecommunications, marine and automotive which all provide good opportunities for growth.
