Parasol launches four AWR solutions

Parasol launches four AWR solutions

With just over a month to go to the introduction of AWR (Agency Workers Regulations), Parasol, the UK’s leading outsourced employment specialist and umbrella company, has confirmed that it will offer a suite of four solutions in response to the new legislation.

Parasol will be offering:

A Swedish Derogation model compliant with regulation 10 of AWR

A Match Permanent Pay model (MPP) in line with regulation 5 of AWR

A Limited company solution via Parasol’s sister company, ClearSky Accounting

Bespoke solutions can also be developed in partnership with staffing businesses and their end-clients

Rob Crossland, Chief Executive of Parasol, commented: “Over the last 18 months we have been working very hard to develop a suite of solutions that will ensure staffing businesses, their clients and contractors will work within the new AWR legislation. Right from the outset, it became very clear to us that a one size fits all approach to AWR would not work and, as the market leader, we needed a robust suite of solutions that would match the individual needs of staffing businesses across the UK.

“The true umbrella companies, i.e. those that have always been employment led as opposed to tax led solutions, have always operated as true employers and as a result, have been close to being AWR compliant from the outset. This means that businesses such as ours have not been forced to make seismic changes to their model. Instead, we have made the necessary changes in order to be able to offer both Swedish Derogation and MPP solutions, and focused on refining them based on feedback from employment tribunal judges and employment law specialists as well as staffing businesses and contractors themselves.

“For some time true umbrella companies such as Parasol have been moving up the supply chain, away from a needs must & lsquo;ad hoc’ service towards genuine partnerships and I believe AWR will see a further step change in this process. It is not the big scary piece of legislation that many commentators will have you believe, but an opportunity for further evolution in the staffing industry.”
