Shortlist and judging panel for 2011 APSCo awards announced

The shortlist for the 2011 APSCo Staffing Industry Awards has been unveiled, with the winners to be announced at a prestigious, invitation only lunch at Barclays Corporate HQ in Canary Wharf on 3rd November.

The shortlisted companies will attend a Q&A session with an esteemed judging panel, who will decide the winners following face-to-face interviews with the candidates in October.

The judging panels will be chaired by Les Clarke, an industry veteran with over 30 years of experience in recruitment. Les co-founded Eurosoft Solutions, which was sold to Parity Plc in 1995. He was also co founder and Chairman of Glotel Plc, the telecommunication specialist which was floated on the Stock Exchange and sold to Spring plc in 2007. He is a former APSCo chairman.

The & lsquo;Recruitment Company of the Year’ awards will be judged by Philip McMullan, former editor of Recruitment Consultant and Recruiter magazines, Katie Folwell-Davies, Partner at Deloitte, who heads up the firms recruitment sector team, and James Wellesley
Wesley, Partner at Wyvern Partners who leads Wyvern’s Human Capital Services practice.

The judging panel for & lsquo;Innovator’ and & lsquo;Sector Service Provider of the Year’ awards will consist of Paul Saunders, a former director of commercial finance at Lloyds TSB, Martin Reed, MD of Thomas International and Godfrey Morrell, an IT recruitment expert with over 25 years experience and founder of Abraxas (Now Randstad IT). Abraxas was one of the original founding companies of APSCo. Godfrey served on the APSCo executive committee from 2005-07, chairing it in 2008.

Marilyn Davidson, Director of APSCo, comments: “The standard of entries this year has been higher than ever, and it will be very tough for our judges to make a decision. All of our finalists have demonstrated excellence in their field and should all be proud of what they have achieved this year.”
