Technical recruiter makes Fast Growth 50 list

A technical recruitment agency based in Cardiff has been named as one of the fastest growing companies in Wales at the coveted Fast Growth 50 awards 2011.

Established in 2002, Linea Resourcing specialises in permanent mid-market and senior executive roles in sectors such as engineering, defence, food manufacture, medical devices, human resources and finance. Its 200 plus customer base range from high profile PLCs to hi-tech start ups.

Linea made the Fast Growth 50 list, which ranks companies on revenue growth, after its revenue increased95% from 2008 and 2010.Fee income was  &pound852,000 for the last financial year.

Mike Gorshkov, founder and managing director of Linea which employs 15, said: “The Fast Growth 50 celebrates the best of Welsh entrepreneurship. To be recognised as one of the 50 fastest growing firms out of a Welsh business population of 200,000 and during a period of the worst recession in living memory is something which I am extremely proud of.

“We’ve had a great year but we’ve put a lot of work in and to see it all pay off is fantastic and is credit to the team. We have a strong team at Linea who bring much dedication, passion and creativity to the business.”

Linea recently relocated to new offices on Eastern Business Park totalling 3,200 sq ft, three times the size of its previous premises on the same business park, as part of its wider expansion strategy.

Looking ahead, the company is focused is on strengthening its position in core and target markets and developing its brand as the recruiter of choice.

Mike continued: “We have plans to expand beyond Wales and open at least two offices in other regional UK markets. We have set ourselves ambitious targets over the next five years to grow the Cardiff office to a team of 30 fee earners and achieve a turnover in excess of &pound20 million.”

Now in its 13th year, the Fast Growth 50 was established by professor Dylan Jones-Evans to recognise the development of growth in the Welsh economy through highlighting the 50 fastest growing companies within the Welsh business community.

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, creator of the Wales Fast Growth 50 programme and director of enterprise and innovation at the University of Wales, said: “At a time when Wales needs its entrepreneurs more than ever, the Fast Growth 50 firms are exemplars of what can be achieved within our economy.
