GOODMAN MASSON TREKS THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA FOR GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL CHILDREN’S CHARITY
Eight employees from financial recruitment company Goodman Masson have returned from the trip of a lifetime trekking along the Great Wall of China to raise vital funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
The recruiters took on the challenge from 24 September to 3 October to help the charity rebuild and refurbish Great Ormond Street Hospital, provide vital up-to-date equipment and fund research into better treatments for the children.
Having chosen Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity as its & lsquo;Charity of the Year’ in February 2011, Goodman Masson has pledged to raise £40,000 by February 2012 which will fully fund new MRI Equipment at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
On the trip, the team joined nine other trekkers and covered over 80km of the Great Wall through scenic mountain ranges before ending at Beijing to explore the culture of China’s capital city. The trekkers from Goodman Masson will raise over £24,000 from the trek for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
Goodman Masson Chief Executive Officer Guy Hayward said: “A quite incredible experience. New friends made, wonderful memories and its only when you walk the Great Wall can you truly appreciate the colossus of the construction. 2000 years to build a wall 8,850km long is madness.
“It wasn't madness walking it though. Raising £24,000 for the children, staff and legacy of Great Ormond Street is enormously rewarding. What an amazing charity! Hope is a powerful quality...and GOSH gives thousands of people exactly that.”
