Leading Job Board to use Social Media to Donate to Charity

MyJobGroup.co.uk to donating banner ads worth &pound000s via Linkedin

A leading network of job boards today announced it was using its staff’s popularity over social media to donate to a leading cancer charity. MyJobGroup.co.uk confirmed that it will be donating banner ads across its sites during October to Breast Cancer Care, with hundreds donated via social media & lsquo;likes’.

The company, which operates the UK’s largest network of regional job boards, will commence a month-long fundraising drive for the charity, as Senior Account Manager, Chris Swales, dedicates his Linkedin profile status update to Breast Cancer Care.

For each & lsquo;like’ that his latest status update receives from members of the public, MyJobGroup.co.uk will donate 500 banner impressions to the charity across its network of sites, potentially donating thousands of pounds in advertising to Breast Cancer Care throughout October and ultimately increasing web traffic and donations to the charity.

In addition to MyJobGroup.co.uk’s social media campaign, the company will also be running a full programme of internal fundraising, with raffles including prizes donated by local businesses, quizzes and cake sales. It is hoped the activity will raise significant sums for the charity, which provides information and support for anyone affected by breast cancer.

Geraldine Finn, Managing Director of MyJobGroup.co.uk, said: “Breast Cancer Care is a fantastic national charity which provides a wonderful service to people in difficult circumstances.

“Through our month-long fundraising drive, including Chris Swales’ Linkedin challenge, we aim to raise thousands to help resource the charity in its vital work.

“For anyone interested in supporting the work of Breast Cancer Care, please visit Chris’ Linkedin page and simply & lsquo;like’ his status about the charity. In so doing you will be able to help more people whose lives have been affected by breast cancer and ultimately increase donations to the charity.”
