Rotherham Council deploys HumanConcepts’ Organisational Planning Solution to Perform Planning in Advance of New Austerity Measures

Innovative council deploys organisational charting software integrated with HR systems to manage restructures across its 15,000 employee organisation

Exeter, United Kingdom —20 October 2011 — HumanConcepts, the leading provider of workforce decision supportsolutions, has deployed its planning and modeling solution at Rotherham Council. Implemented by RBT, the joint venture partnership between Rotherham Borough Council and BT, HumanConcepts is being used by the Council to support strategic workforce planning necessary to meet the new government austerity measures. The Council has already rolled out HumanConcepts organisational charting  software to all 15,000 employees. The solution is available to Council employees as a secure web-based self-service application, enabling easy at-a-glance graphical views of the organisational structure.

The HR team is using HumanConcepts planning and modeling tools to support the organisational change process.  The solution enables the HR team to work with departmental managers to generate “what if” scenarios that allow them to understand, evaluate and communicate the impact of changes. The collaboration between HR and line of business leaders results in better, more informed decision making. Once reorganization decisions are approved, the data is fed into an in-house application that updates HR and Payroll systems. New contract letters and notification of changes required to complete the process are then issued to the relevant staff.
