Leading financial services institution, JP Morgan together with career site and networking business, Women in Technology (http://www.womenintechnology.co.uk/) is continuing with its efforts to encourage –and retain more female talent in the Scottish IT sector by co- hosting an IT networking event.

The event, & lsquo;Insight into Innovation in the Workplace’ is one of a series of events Women In Technology is hosting in Scotland as part of its remit to increase the number of women working and achieving in the Scottish technology profession. With guest speakers from Spigit, an innovation management company and Morna Simpson, CEO of FlockEdu an educational social network, and founder of Girl Geek Scotland, the event will take place on 20th of October 2011 at 6.00pm at the Blythswood Square Hotel in Glasgow

“We’re delighted to have the opportunity to meet some of Scotland’s best IT talent”, says Maggie Berry managing Director of Women in technology. “J.P. Morgan is incredibly supportive of our goal to bring more women into the IT sector and we’re really happy to be in partnership with them. We have some amazing speakers on the subject of innovation and there will be an opportunity to network and discuss careers at J.P. Morgan, so this is really an evening not to be missed.”

Morna Simpson says: “Flockedu was launched earlier this year by pulling together a diverse and multi-skilled team in collaborative events drawing on existing models such as hack days and principles from Design Innovation. I'm delighted to be able to share some of the insights we gained from this experience in the upcoming event. Having diversity in your team is one of the key principles of Design Innovation. It is more important than ever to have women working in technology to collaborate in the creation of innovative solutions which will see business and society at large through the current economic downturn.
