Jude attains a mark of Distinction as recruitment’s top student
Jude Pollard of Riverside Recruitment, Carlisle has distinguished herself by earning a Distinction to become top student in the Institute of Recruitment Professionals’ Certificate in Recruitment Practice (CertRP) examination which was sat by nearly 150 students, all recruitment consultants - across the UK.
Jude, who manages the commercial desk at Riverside Recruitment, came into recruitment after working in sales and marketing within the private sector for many years. Already a client of Riverside Recruitment – having used their temporary recruitment services – she was delighted to be given an opportunity to join them in January this year.
Jude specialises in the office and professional sectors, but also works closely with the Industrial and Distribution divisions of Riverside assisting in the search and select of senior candidates where a particular skill or trade qualification is needed. On top of this, Jude also is actively involved in marketing initiatives and campaigns to help promote the business.
Commenting on being top student, Judith said: “Passing the exam was an achievement in itself and to find out that I was top Certificate student was just the icing on the cake – superb! But working towards the Certificate was very much a team effort at Riverside as there was a group of us working closely together, setting aside time to study and test each other.”
She added: “Taking any exam requires commitment and for me personally, I studied in small chunks, as I find that this works better for me. The four modules that we completed definitely helped in ensuring that I understood the subject and if in doubt, Liam Salkeld, my business development director would discuss openly any topics or discussions that needed clarified or expanded on.”
Commenting on her achievement, Judith Armatage, Director of Professional Development at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation which oversees the examinations, said: “It is wonderful to see talented people like Jude coming into recruitment from other parts of the private sector in which they can use their skills and abilities to enhance and add value to the services they are giving to their clients, candidates and also their employers.
“This is the reason why recruitment qualifications were established to help people such as Jude to continue their professional development. We look forward to hearing about her future progress in recruitment after her stunning achievement after less than a year in recruitment.”
