SEARCH CELEBRATES ONE YEAR IN BRIGHTON AS IT EYES FUTURE EXPANSION

Search Consultancy, the UK wide multi-sector recruiter, today (01 November 2011) celebrated its first year of trading in Brighton as it announced it is planning to expand its operations and double its staff headcount over the next year.

The Brighton site, which opened on 01 November 2010 with five consultants, has already tripled its headcount with 16 employees now working across a number of divisions including supply chain and purchasing, legal, construction and HR.  Office services and call centre division was added to the Brighton site in April 2011 to capitalise on local demand for temp and perm staff, and has experienced high demand in its first six months of trading.

Prior to opening in Brighton, Search serviced its business on the south coast from its larger Crawley office, however the decision to invest in Brighton was made to seize the opportunities that existed within the city’s vibrant recruitment market.

Over the next year, the business is planning expand its team and its divisional offering to incorporate, amongst others, IT, Financial Services and Insurance and Engineering.

Jenny Finch, regional director, Search Consultancy said:

“The response we’ve experienced in Brighton has completely exceeded our expectations and we’ve outperformed our original business plan for the year.

“We invested heavily in our Brighton operations from the outset because we realised the sheer potential within the market, and felt we needed to establish ourselves locally in order to attract the right type of clients.

“A lot of our success in the first year is down to the experienced and talented team of recruiters we have at our Brighton site, who have worked hard to increase our visibility and profile and in turn convert new business.

“Brighton and the south continues to have a vibrant recruitment market, with high demand for volume recruitment services which has seen our newly opened office services and call centre division go from strength to strength.   We believe we have the structure and model to meet the needs of local businesses with this requirement, which is partly why we’re continuing to win new business.

“Above all, we’re committed to playing an active role in the community and in the last year we’ve been working with senior schools and local employers to help build and develop employability skills and we are active members of the Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce.

“The next year will involve the expansion of our offering and an increased headcount as we continue to make our mark locally.  We’re extremely excited about the opportunities ahead, and hope we can replicate the success we’ve experienced over the past year.”
