Stella Bowdell Named Head of The Institute of Consulting

Former CMI Area Manager North promoted to Head of the IC thanks to extensive experience in raising the standards of management and leadership through qualifications, membership and support

The UK’s professional body for consultants and advisers, the Institute of Consulting has today announced that Stella Bowdell has been appointed as the new Head of the Institute of Consulting.

Stella, who joins the Institute of Consulting (IC) from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), brings over 20 years’ experience in working with a range of consultancy sectors, including public, financial, construction and manufacturing, to her new role. Stella will be responsible for growing the Institute and building on the foundations established through the successful rebranding in early 2011.

Stella comments: “The Institute of Consulting is a standard bearer for professionalism and quality in the consulting industry and I am delighted to be joining as its new Head. My initial focus is building partnerships and highlighting the benefits of IC membership – we already have a fantastic resource for consultants and practices in our ConsultingDirect library and we will soon be launching a national register of consultants for buyers of consulting services.”

Stella will report directly to Huw Hilditch-Roberts, Director in Charge of the Institute of Consulting, who concluded: “I’m delighted to welcome Stella to the team. Stella’s proven experience in leading employer engagement, qualifications and membership growth will be invaluable as the IC continues its growth this year and in 2012. Our vision is of a superior pool of consultants that meet the high standards demanded by Britain’s best led companies and with the developments we have in the pipeline Stella is very well equipped to lead the IC in building that vision”.
