SThree wins good governance award

SThree, the FTSE 250 listed recruitment company, were recognised recently for their successful combination of good governance and entrepreneurship. Steve Hornbuckle, Compnany Secretary, was awarded the ICSA Company Secretary of the year award beating off the challenge of several FTSE 100 companies.

The ICSA, who are the leading global authority on corporate governance, gave the award because of SThree’s early adoption of the UKLA governance standards and their innovative approach to staff incentive and share schemes.

This award for SThree shows that successful companies can apply good governance without limiting their ambitions. This was achieved by balancing the dynamic drive of front office sales teams with the guidance and discipline of Finance and Company Secretariat team Sec.

In uncertain economic times it is crucial that recruitment companies build trust with investors private or listed. This award goes some way to increasing that trust by reporting good profits transparently.

Steve Hornbuckle said “SThree has always aimed to apply good governance even before their floatation this approach helped the small Co Sec team beat some of the largest FTSE 100 companies, each with much larger budgets and teams”.
