Timothy James Consulting opens its doors in Manchester!

Senior appointments specialist, Timothy James Consulting, has officially launched its third UK office in Manchester’s thriving Piccadilly area.

The office opened its doors for business on 31st October with a team of 11, including 6 relocaters from the established Bristol and London offices and 5 new recruits from the North West. Capitalising on their significant presence in key markets such as Financial Services and Retail & E-Commerce, Timothy James Consulting are hoping to extend their success in these areas by establishing a strong presence in the North West. Gareth Oakley, Head of Retail and a London relocater, says “The opportunity for the Retail division in Manchester is massive. When the chance arose for me to relocate and build a team here, there was no hesitation for me that this was the right decision, particularly when focusing on multichannel and the continuing growth of E-Commerce in the North.”

CEO and Founder Chris O’Connell is hoping that the Manchester office emulates the London branch in terms of growth. Since the London offering was opening in May 2010, the office premises have been outgrown 3 times in 14 months, with plans to move for a fourth time in place for January 2011 as staff numbers continue to soar. “By continually looking to improve our offering to clients in our key sectors, we can continue to make valued hires that will drive the business forward. The aim is to triple our Manchester headcount by the end of the year whilst not compromising on quality. Longer term, we are looking to establish a Media and Publishing division in Manchester and further develop our Utilities division, indentifying with the recruitment needs of our clients based in the North West.”

The launch of the Manchester office marks a new chapter in the Timothy James Consulting story. As the company head into their 9th year, this third office, a Northern flagship, is the emblem of how far the business has come. O’ Connell reflects on the success of the company that grew from the vision of two people in a basement office, stating “we can’t do it without our employees. The launch of the Manchester office demonstrates our ambition to be a true market leader in the Senior Appointments space. It is testament to the strength in depth and outstanding talent we have in the organisation from the Back Office, Sales Team and Management who all work collaboratively with one common goal in mind: the Timothy James Consulting customer experience.”

The launch of the Manchester office is indicative of the year ahead for Timothy James Consulting. With a third office secured, the firm are committed to becoming champions of workforce engagement. In 2011, they were awarded 5th place on The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work for list and 3rd Best Small Company to Work for in the UK by the Great Place to Work Institute and, by expanding the team, hope to secure this commitment from their employees to replicate these achievements throughout 2012.
