Barclay Meade is named as one of four partnering agencies in new CIPS Recruitment offering

Leading professional staffing recruitment agency Barclay Meade has been selected by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) as one of its new recruitment partners in an initiative designed to help graduates and job seekers find the best route into the industry.

CIPS Recruitment’ will launch in January 2012, utilising the resources from the world’s largest specialist procurement and supply professional organisation alongside the industry insight of Barclay Meade, to offer specialist career support for CIPS UK members.

The service, which will help job seekers on the career ladder from entry to director and Chief Procurement Officer, will be the most comprehensive procurement-focused recruitment facility for candidates and organisations in the private, public and third sectors. Anyone who registers for the service will also be able to register with any or all of the other recruitment partners.

Russell Soan, head of procurement and supply chain recruitment at Barclay Meade, says: "The procurement and supply chain industry faces many challenges which must be overcome in order to continue to attract the best new talent into what is an exciting and rewarding profession.

“Uncertainty over the current economic climate and the drive for increased cost efficiencies has earned procurement and supply chain a place on the board. Our partnership with CIPS will help us to drive procurement and supply chain as a profession of choice whilst also supporting current members with expert career advice and market information.”

Barclay Meade offers a wide range of procurement and supply chain recruitment services across many sectors on a permanent, temporary and interim basis. From entry to director level, a specialist team of recruiters provide expertise and insight on industry trends, skill analysis, salary benchmarking, remuneration packages and applicant availability.

To help complement their expert knowledge of the industry, Barclay Meade has been closely monitoring the recruitment outlook of UK medium and large organisations on a quarterly basis since its launch in August 2010. The most recent & lsquo;Tracking UK Recruitment’ report included a special supplement focusing on the procurement and supply chain sector.

Russell Soan adds: “One of the key findings was that graduates and entry level candidates often lack an appreciation for the industry and an understanding of its importance as a high-level strategic function within many organisations.

“Therefore, we hope this new collective will help raise the profile of the industry among job seekers and the wider business community to ensure procurement is a career of choice for the best in new business talent up and down the country.”

David Noble, Chief Executive of CIPS says: “The combined strength of our preferred partners, who have been chosen following a thorough selection process, means a huge boost for candidates seeking career opportunities in the procurement and supply chain profession. We must support the next generation of professionals and make this a career of choice for younger audiences and those in mid-career all over the world.  I believe this combination of experts in the recruitment industry will provide the best mix and the best opportunities.”
