Randstad joins Recruitment Industry Benchmarking

“All businesses will have a number of indicators and measures to compare their performance to budget expectations and prior year. But whether your results are better or worse than expected, the important question will always be – how does this compare to the market and our competition?”

These are the words of Stewart McCoy, strategic operations manager for Randstad Staffing and precisely the reason why the UK’s leading recruitment consultants have joined Recruitment Industry Benchmarking (RIB).

RIB is at the forefront of internet based benchmarking for the recruitment industry, providing access to current market intelligence and representing a healthy cross section of the recruitment industry in the UK.  .  Randstad is growing its membership to include its key business lines education, care, retail, office and professional and sales and marketing.

During times of economic challenge, it’s never more important for businesses to ensure that they have a range of apparatus available to help with decision making and strategic planning.  Benchmarking against a few relatively sized competitors can prove to be useful when focusing on service and product offerings, structure, client base, geography and results/growth  (/-) year on year.

Stewart McCoy continues “Of course, these comparisons go some way to telling us that we are holding our market share, but RIB gives Randstad the opportunity to compare our performance not just to the market but to break this down by sector month by month.  This level of insight could be essential when the market place is sometimes fragmented and under pressure.  Frequent, reliable comparison with the market and competition gives us the opportunity to develop an economic health check much earlier, enabling us to respond in a controlled, accurate and strategic way.  I’m really pleased to be joining RIB, adding another instrument to Randstad’s toolkit to support our thinking.”
