Assured Helps to put Maplin on the Map

Consumer electronics retail giant chooses Assured Recruitment to provide staff for its 20 new store openings

The UK’s biggest specialist retailer of consumer electronics, Maplin, has appointed national executive recruitment specialist, Assured Recruitment, to supply staff for 20 new stores within the next three years.

Maplin had been handling its recruitment internally but realised that high-quality managers were proving hard to find, and Maplin was tying up resources whilst searching for them. Due to Maplin’s commitment to customer service, it was a challenge to find managers that were a perfect match in terms of skills, and personality. 

With an existing network of 192 stores, Maplin now wants to open 20 new stores over a three-year period therefore a supply of high-quality manager candidates was essential to achieving this expansion goal.

Assured started the recruitment process by identifying a group of companies whose culture was similar to that of Maplin, allowing it to develop a list of potential candidates that would meet Maplin’s requirements.

Within four to five months, Assured had placed numerous candidates with Maplin, and now feels that it is an integral part of the company’s growth strategy. Maplin is pleased with Assured’s recruitment process, and its communication and transparency.  Assured is now fully integrated into Maplin’s recruitment process throughout all of its operations.
