Leading recruitment company InterQuest Group Plc has appointed sports specialist PR agency Henman Communications to manage the PR for its first ever UK Recruitment Squash Tournament in aid of Cancer Research UK, to take place in Canary Wharf in London from the 23rd March.

The tournament is the brainchild of one of InterQuest Group PLC founding Directors, Matt Crawcour, a former professional squash player himself who comments: “We are delighted that Henman Communications will be managing the PR for the tournament. The team at Henman Communications have a very good track record in the sports sector and experience working in squash, so I am looking forward to working with them”

As part of the PR campaign Henman Communications will be raising the profile of the tournament through a viral video campaign featuring one of the world’s leading professional squash players. The PR programme will also involve working closely with all the charity and event partners and involve press office activity with print, online and social media channels to distribute video and other content.

Matt Crawcour goes on to say: “With such a fantastic court in an amazing location, it seems appropriate for the recruitment and any corporate business sectors to compete for the squash title whilst raising valuable funds for Cancer Research UK charity. We are also supporting secondary charities: CLIC Sargent, MacMillan and Marie Curie and are delighted to be sponsored by leading racquet and clothing brand Prince by as well.”

The UK Recruitment Squash Tournament is open to every recruitment, staffing and search company in the UK, from any sector and / or any location. The finals will be played on the professional all-glass squash court situated at Canary Wharf in March 2012 for the Canary Wharf Classics tournament that will feature the top 10 players in the world.

A champagne lunch reception will be held on the finals day with limited tables available. The three-a-side team tournament aims to raise funds for four major UK charities.

The funds raised at this year’s first ever UK Recruitment Squash Tournament will be split between Cancer Research UK, MacMillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care and ClIC Sargent, Caring for Children with Cancer.

Team registrations are &pound50 per team (for the cost of the court hire and administration) any surplus funds will be split between the four charities.
