Cyclescheme and the Cycle to Work Alliance celebrate Cycle to Work success

Cyclescheme (as a founder member of the Cycle to Work Alliance) joined Dawn Primarolo (MP for Bristol South and Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons) to celebrate the success of Babcock Integrated Technology’s Cycle to Work scheme at the company’s base in Bristol on Friday 3rd February.

The meeting highlighted the success of Babcock’s Cycle to Work scheme and emphasised the added benefit brought to Bristol and the surrounding area too. Nearly 200 employees took part in the scheme and took to two-wheels for their commute to work – a roaring success for the company that employs around 500 people at its Bristol site. Local independent bicycle dealers, and the local economy, benefitted too with around 50 stores in the Bristol area directly benefitting from the success of the scheme.

Gary Cooper – Director of Cyclescheme said, “the comments from Babcock with regard to the running of their Cycle to Work scheme were very positive. The success of the scheme can clearly be seen not just by the number of people who took part, but in the positive impact on the local economy too.”
