Furthering Future Careers during Apprenticeship Week 2012

A leading recruitment consultancy has celebrated Apprenticeship Week by highlighting the success of their three apprentices.

Birminghambased Network Recruitment Partnership has just completed the first year of working with apprentices. The newly established programme has been hugely successful and Network is keen to continue assisting young people in the area with apprenticeships.

Samuel Dale joined Network in 2011 on a 7 month apprenticeship as a resourcer. Following an intensive learning program designed to teach him valuable administration and database skills whilst working within professional business environment, Sam has now has completed an NVQ level 2 in Business & Administration and commenced level 3, after Network extended his apprenticeship contract.

Of his time with Network Sam said, “Since starting my apprenticeship I believe that I have come such a long way and gained crucial skills that will be beneficial in any working environment. I was nervous about starting my apprenticeship but keen to take the first step into my future career. My work experience at Network and the training I’ve received has boosted my confidence and taught me to be pro active.  I was delighted when given the opportunity to advance in my apprenticeship and be able to complete NVQ level 3.  My time at Network has been fantastic and I really appreciate the amazing head start it has given me.  I would highly recommend the apprenticeship scheme to anyone and can honestly say I would not change a thing.

AmberShore, commenced her apprenticeship in September with Procurement People a subsidiary company of Network Recruitment Partnership, specialising in executive Supply Chain & Procurement recruitment. Speaking of her placement amber said, “I have been an apprentice for four months and feel I have learnt so much already managing work loads, communicating with colleagues, and working in a team environment, just to name a few. My experience so far has been very enjoyable as there is a very friendly atmosphere in the office and I have been able to experience new and different challenges. Personally I think an apprenticeship is a great opportunity to learn different skills as well as having the advantages of being in a working environment and I would recommend it to anyone.”

Network Recruitment’s most recent apprentice, Joshua Handley started initially on a month’s trial which has now been extended to a full 7 month apprenticeship with Network. Joshua’s addition follows the recent success of an earlier Network Apprentice who, following completion of her NVQ and apprenticeship has been offered a full time position with another company. Josh said, I have only been on the Business Administration apprenticeship for a short time but already, I have learned new skills necessary for working in an office environment. I’m enjoying both the course and the apprenticeship and hope to progress further with Network’s scheme and take level 3 in Business & Administration.

Ken Wood, Managing Director of Network Recruitment Partnership said about Network’s apprenticeship programme, “As a member of the local business community and a School Governor I believe it’s vital businesses open up opportunities to young people in the region. The programme which started last year in partnership with Key Training, has been a complete success and I am delighted that Network has been able to allow these young apprentices the chance to develop their skills within our sector and start them on the path to their future careers.”
