G4S, the official security services provider to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, is taking part in the Enfield Jobs Fair today, as it continues to roll out the biggest paid recruitment drive this century.

G4S is recruiting over 10,000 security staff to work at the London 2012 Games this summer.

London Mayor Boris Johnson will be opening the jobs fair at 10am on Friday 10thFebruary, which is being held at Southbury Leisure centre, Southbury Road, Enfield.

G4S is recruiting from a broad range of backgrounds, ages and experience levels, and the 10,000 roles that it is looking to fill for the London 2012 Games are providing much needed jobs and opportunities for UK job seekers.  Already there have been applications from more than 40,000 hopeful recruits, the majority from London.

Organised by Enfield North MP Nick de Bois, the Enfield Jobs Fair aims to bring together companies and training providers to offer opportunities to job seekers at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. G4S will be among the 42 organisations attending to find talented candidates in Enfield to work at the London 2012 Games.

When the Enfield Jobs Fair was first held in January 2011, over 1,200 attended and the format has been copied by MPs and local councils across the country.

Running until 3pm, people can drop in at any time at the jobs fair and it is completely free to attend.

Shaun Plant, G4S Workforce Supply Director, says: “We’re thrilled to be taking our recruitment drive to Enfield, a community that will be very close to the action around the Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer.

“Our 2012 recruitment drive offers unique employment opportunities to Londoners, allowing them to get closer to the excitement and play an important role in delivering a safe and secure London 2012 Games.

“Our training will also provide successful G4S applicants with a professional security services qualification and licence that will kick-start their careers in the sector post-2012.”

Nick de Bois says, “I’m delighted that G4S will be attending the Enfield Jobs Fair this year. It would not be possible to put on the event without companies like G4S devoting time and effort to get involved.”

He adds, “With genuine vacancies available, the Enfield Jobs Fair is able to offer people in Enfield another avenue into the job hunting process, and of course companies like G4S can help to tap into the talented and creative people we have in the borough.”
