GCS receives Best Company top honours for the third consecutive year

Recruitment specialist firm highest ranked small business in Reading

For an impressive third year in a row, GCS has achieved the Sunday Times’ Best Companies highest honour. The 3-Star accreditation, generally bestowed upon only a handful of recruitment firms each year, signifies a firm that the Best Companies organisation believes to be “exceptional”. The Sunday Times Top 100 listing of the best UK small businesses to work for saw GCS as the only Reading based company included. Falling just outside the top 10 recruitment businesses in the country, GCS placed 32nd overall in the list.

“Three years of achieving the 3 star award, combined with three years in the top third of all UK small businesses, is something of which everyone who works at GCS should be immensely proud” says Managing Director David Bloxham. “Some of the individual category scores are particularly encouraging and show that our staff feel secure in and motivated by the future”.

The survey carried out by Best Companies sees all entering businesses ranked across a number of specific fields. GCS achieved countrywide top 10 scores in the categories of “people feel they can make a difference at work” and “there is a buzz about working for the company”. The business also scored 90% in the “staff believe they have a positive future ahead” category.

GCS founder and IOD Director of the Year nominee Chris Bartlett commented “When you consider that 85% of all UK businesses are small to medium size enterprises, it becomes clear just how much competition there is to be included in the Best Companies Top 100 listing. It is particularly motivating to be deemed the only small business in Reading of Top 100 standard.”
