Outsource UK MD scoops business personality award

The prestigious Wiltshire Business Person of the Year award 2011 has been given to Outsource UK managing director Paul Jameson.

Paul was selected from among the winners of the 12 monthly awards presented in 2011. They are sponsored by the Swindon Advertiser and Swindon Marriott.

Outsource UK, based in Swindon, provides specialist IT personnel to a range of industries throughout the UK and Europe and is itself an award-winning company. Recently placed in the Fast 50 table of recruiters for the second consecutive year, it has also appeared in the Sunday Times’s Virgin Fast Track 100 league table of independent fast-growing companies.

Last year Outsource UK – which started operating from Paul’s home – marked 20 years in business and the entire team were taken on a training weekend to Turkey to celebrate.

In November, the company took over Staffordshire-based Omnium IT Recruitment, giving it a joint &pound35 million turnover, with some 400 contractors working for clients throughout the UK and Europe and 45 members of staff.

Paul said he was delighted to receive the award, but attributed his success to his hard-working and loyal team and the company’s ethos of putting service at the heart of everything it does.

“When I set up Outsource UK, the industry approach was something of a numbers game – fire a load of CVs at a client and one of them may hit the spot,” he said. “I could see this wasn’t the best approach and that I could provide a better service to clients of recruitment firms and the candidates.  By putting service at the heart of my business we could still fill positions but without wasting either their time or the candidates’.”

From the start, the quality of service attracted big name clients such as Nationwide, which still relies on Outsource UK’s expertise.

“Taking everyone to Turkey was essential to say thank you to the staff for all the hard work they do and, of course, there was an element of work,” he said. “By taking on and training our own people we can ensure we maintain the high standards we have set, and they can forge their career.”
