Martin Warnes, Managing Director of, comments:

“We asked the public to help us choose a TV commercial from a small group created by first-time directors. It was an unconventional approach to creating a new ad, but it’s been a real success.

“’Super Reed’, our winning ad, is humorous and full of energy and has certainly got people talking most importantly, though, it’s motivating a new audience of jobseekers, from every specialism and in every region of the UK, to register with and engage with our services.”

Amongst the industry sectors which have shown the biggest growth in jobseeker activity since the campaign launched are Accountancy (Qualified), which saw a 15% rise in registrations since the campaign launched, Engineering (17% rise), Insurance (19%), IT (9% rise) and Retail (32% rise).

What’s more, with the reach of a national campaign, the number of new candidates registering on has risen across every region, including 29% growth in the North East, 22% in Wales, 18% in Scotland, 17% in Yorkshire & Humberside and 15% in the South East.

Warnes continues:

“January’s record-breaking numbers reflect extremely well on the TV campaign, but it’s important to remember that we’re not simply looking for a short term spike in traffic. To maximise effectiveness for our clients, we need to ensure our promotional activity is designed to deliver jobseekers across all specialisms, in all regions, at all times.

“By combining a memorable TV ad, which further boosts awareness of our brand, with a class-leading product, and highly relevant jobseeker communications, we can continue to build the most valuable platform for recruiters to reach the right candidates.”

More than 9,700 recruiters are currently advertising vacancies on, with over 118,000 new jobs added in January.’s national TV campaign is set to run in to March and is being supported by digital display advertising and candidate re-targeting activity across a range of the UK’s most-visited websites.
