Cooper Lomaz Recruitment opens in Lowestoft

As a direct result of its successes in the recruitment of senior personnel for renewable energy companies in East Anglia, recruitment specialist Cooper Lomaz has seized the opportunity of opening a third hub in the Orbis Centre in Lowestoft.  Lowestoft is becoming the heart of the renewable energy sector in East Anglia with the on-going development of large, offshore wind farms in the North Sea, and OrbisEnergy is bringing together under one roof, up to 38 businesses with interests in this thriving sector. Cooper Lomaz is joining them.

“We are in good company,” says Jane Lovell from Cooper Lomaz.  “We have many oil, gas and renewable clients, and a large concentration of candidates who live in Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth.  Many work offshore, or have the long commute to Aberdeen or even internationally.  Our aim is to be closer to this source, and through our exceptional service, offer them more locally based roles.”

Cooper Lomaz carries out intense pre-screening as part of its recruitment service and the Orbis Centre provides a relaxed and professional environment in which to meet them.   Jane goes on to say: “We envisage growing our team from our base in Lowestoft to enable us to offer permanent and contract solutions to energy businesses in the region.  We will also be in a good geographical position to market our services to the Round Three offshore wind farms when they start the construction phase off the coast of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.”

Having already placed some senior and highly influential personnel in the renewable energy sector, Cooper Lomaz recognises that its proximity to the market makes it best placed to support clients with their future growth and development.  The company is committed to Norfolk.  It has itself recruited Norfolk-based consultants who understand the local marketplace and are best able to face the challenges of recruiting local experienced personnel.  At the moment Cooper Lomaz is in the process of sourcing a new Chief executive Officer for EEEGR (East of England Energy Group).

Jane finishes by saying: “We are passionate about bringing well-qualified, highly skilled candidates back into the Norfolk market, and we are applying all our skills and knowledge to this end.  In a buyers’ market for a very specific technical skill set, it has proved difficult, but with our knowledge and our clients’ organisation and networks, we are bringing candidates home to Norfolk.  Being & lsquo;on the spot’ is proving helpful.”
