Employment lifts as firms grow bolder

Strong job figures yesterday raised hopes that the economic recovery is finally underway. The index of permanent staff, according to KPMG and Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), have stated that placements rose from 51.2 in January to 53.2 in February, indicating a higher growth rate.

Will Davies, founder of London’s leading property maintenance firm aspect.co.uk, is attempting to get Britain working, he believes for to long the young unemployed have relied on the poor economic situation as an excuse not to find work. This month Will and the aspect team will be holding a & lsquo;boot camp’ styled apprenticeship recruitment scheme. The aim of the day is to put a number of 18-25 year olds through a series of mental and physical challenges to identify and employee new apprentices. He states “it’s time for business to be bold and have the confidence to invest in the younger workforce. All financial markets are affected by confidence: confidence from consumers to spend and businesses to invest. That confidence is what will drive our recovery.”
