Pertemps' contract win keeps all the customers satisfied

RECRUITMENT giants Pertemps  Recruitment Partnership Ltd , the UK’s largest independent provider of specialist outsourced recruitment services and temporary employment solutions has beaten off rival companies to win a four-year contract to supply temporary resource including interim and specialist workers to Buckinghamshire County Council.

The Midlands-based business will take on the resourcing role from April 1 in all categories of temporary workers including administrative staff, health and social care and professional services.

Keeping costs down and standards high in these harsh economic times were the key performance indicators for the 57-member authority which is ranked 25th in the UK - and is responsible for trading standards, highways, schools, libraries and household waste sites.

Peter Cartwright, Buckinghamshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Resources, said: & lsquo; The partnership will provide us with the best overall value for money for our county’s taxpayers, meeting our service efficiency aspirations while helping to provide a good quality of service.’

Buckinghamshire County Council has awarded a Master Vendor contract to Pertemps, which will not only make the recruitment of temporary staff simpler, more efficient and cost effective but will also result in consistent rates of pay for comparable jobs and correct payments under the Agency Worker Regulations.

The Buckinghamshire arm of the 150-branch Pertemps operates from an office in Aylesbury. All temporary workers recruited will be fully employed by the company and will receive full employment contracts.

"We're absolutely delighted to have won this contract for the first time," said Pertemps national account manager Lisa Duncan. "We realise how important it is to deliver against a backdrop of difficult economic times - it is a delicate balancing act to provide high services at the lowest possible cost."

The new partnership will enable the council to benefit from Pertemps’ considerable public sector knowledge and to support the development of procurement best practice.
