Vielife and Carevolution Partner in Brazil for Health and Wellness

vielife, the global provider of health & wellness solutions, is expanding the presence of its health & wellbeing platform vielife Online in South America through a new alliance with Carevolution, Brazil’s first full corporate wellness coaching consultancy.

Carevolution will provide the web-based vielife Online platform which allows organisations and their staff to benefit from measured improvements in personal health in combination with online and offline wellness coaching to large Brazilian employers.

Use of online health & wellbeing platforms is on the rise in Latin America. Buck Surveys’ November 2010 report - Working Well - showed that while 23% of Latin American companies offered this today, a further 23% planned to offer it within the next year and 21% within the next two to three years.

The growing appetite for employee wellbeing in Brazil is also driven by the new FAP (Accident Prevention Factor) which is calculated as a percentage of the payroll and increases based on the number of accidents employers can actually reduce financial pressure by working to improve the health and wellbeing of their staff. Health plans and insurers can also offer companies discounts based on the existence of a company wellness program.

Dr Ted Feder, Owner, Carevolution, said: “vielife Online is critical to our provision of personalised wellness coaching to Brazil’s large and diverse employee populations using online methods. It has an unrivalled understanding of local cultural differences and attitudes to health alongside superior technology.”

vielife’s health risk assessment (HRA) and lifestyle management programmes are focused on sleep, stress, nutrition and physical activity and health promotion programmes are proven to produce a return of over $6 for every $1 spent. Used by thousands of people in many different countries around the world and in 23 languages globally the vielife platform offers some three million permutations of user content to make it highly personalised for users yet provides a single source of health intelligence for employers.

Mike Beason, Managing Director, vielife, said: “Our partnership with Carevolution is a critical development in our presence globally and in the developing and exciting South American region. We’re looking forward to working with the Carevolution team and its customers.”

Brazil’s rapid development and increasing affluence as a BRIC nation and preparations to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games has raised the issue of health significantly.

Through its assessment tools vielife Online will provide the data required to achieve targeted and personalised wellness improvements that increase productivity and reduce sickness absence, presenteeism and employee stress.
