East Lothian Recruiter Follows Her Heart For Charity

training for the British Heart Foundation World Experience, Trek Mount Kilimanjaro

Angela Brunton owner and Managing Director of Be Personnel Recruitment Specialists based in East Lothian and Ross-Shire is to test herself both physically and mentally this September when she completes the challenge of a lifetime by trekking in Africa to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Angela is set to climb the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, as part of the BHF World Experience program not only because she is passionately committed to helping the charity beat heart disease but also because she enjoys an extreme challenge!

Angela is currently in intense training for the event, breaking in her new purple (Be Personnel colours!) trek boots on the treadmill, and working fervently to raise awareness and sponsorship money for this outstanding cause through online and mobile donations from family, friends, customers, temporary workers, and colleagues, and is determined to raise over &pound10,000 in the next few months for the British Heart Foundation.

Talking to us from her Highland based business, Angela tells us that this has already been a life-changing experience right from the get-go. “Although I like to keep fit and healthy, the training for this is really extreme already and takes a great deal of commitment and hard work to get in peak condition for what is to come.  My day now starts much earlier than it used to so I can fit in 3 hours of training on weekdays as well as managing Be Personnel. 2012 will definitely be a busy, exciting and challenging year but with the wonderful support of my family, friends and business associates it’ll all be worth it!”

Kate Favell, Events Manager at the British Heart Foundation, says, “World Experience events are a fantastic opportunity for participants to see some of the great wonders of the world while raising funds for the British Heart Foundation’s life-saving work. We really appreciate the efforts made to raise every single penny for us and we’d like to wish Angela all the very best with her training and fundraising – with this kind of support, we really can beat heart disease together.”

The range of BHF World Experiences events for 2012/13 aim to offer something for everyone

From trekking the historical and enchanting length of the Peru Inca Trail, to cycling through the breathtaking scenery of Vietnam to Cambodia.
