Keep pace with innovation or risk losing business warns recruitment technology expert

Staffing companies need to keep up to date with changes in the way their candidates and clients use technology or risk losing out on business, a leading expert on recruitment technology has warned.

Raymond Pennie, Co-Chair of the APSCo Technology Forum and commercial director of Kamanchi, made the comments as the company which specialises in providing outsourced IT services to professional recruitment businesses celebrated 10 years in business on 22nd May.

& lsquo; When Kamanchi was founded in May 2002 no-one had heard of Facebook, the cloud or LinkedIn but these innovations have now changed how we all do business,’ says Raymond. & lsquo; Those staffing firms which have survived and thrived over the past decade, particularly during the difficult years after 2008, are the ones with scaleable processes who have embraced technology and all that it can help a business to achieve.’

Raymond does not promote specific products or technologies but is an advocate of strong business process management and data driven decision making.

& lsquo; At the end of the day clients, candidates and consultants don’t care what IT platform you are using. They are concerned with functionality and ease of use,’ he says. & lsquo;Business owners and managers need to continually deliver as expectations continue to rise. At the same time they need to ensure that they getting good quality commercial and management information and keeping an eye on the next market innovation – it’s a big ask. For 10 years we’ve helped staffing businesses to help their candidates find jobs. While no-one knows what the market will look like in 2022 it’s important to keep up with the latest technology to remain competitive and relevant to your candidate base.’
