New Website Takes Hassle Out of Interviewing Job Applicants

This week sees the launch of a new website, www.interviewsmadesimple.co.uk which claims to take much of the hassle out of interviewing job applicants.

Aimed mainly at small and medium sized employers who only recruit occasionally, the site lets them ask job applicants up to 10 questions, they then record their answers on the site using their webcam. Employers then watch and compare candidate’s answers, helping them to choose which to invite in for a face-to-face interview.

The concept has a great many benefits for both employers and candidates. For employers, being able to see and hear all candidates at the very start of the recruitment process, is a far more effective way of identifying the best, compared to simply looking at CVs. Furthermore, it removes the headaches of scheduling first round interviews or telephone screens, speeds up the recruitment process and saves company bosses and hiring managers, valuable time and therefore money.

For candidates, they get a great chance to show an employer what they have to offer and explain why they really want the job. They also save time and money, especially important if they’re currently working or the employer does not reimburse travel costs.

Tom Stroud, Managing Director of Tazio the company behind the website said & lsquo; With many employers routinely receiving hundreds of job applications and CV’s for each vacancy, this is a fantastic way to screen them effectively, giving every applicant an opportunity to shine, whilst at the same time saving often overworked bosses and hiring managers a huge amount of time”.
