NES Global Talent opens new office in Darwin, Australia

Specialist energy recruiter, NES Global Talent, has announced the appointment of Darran Lum to head up its recently opened office in Darwin, Australia.

Lum, who will be fulfilling the role of Business Manager, has 12 years’ recruitment experience working on both contract and permanent roles and will be on hand to assist relocating contractors. Discussing his appointment, Lum said: “NES Global Talent has more than 30 years of experience, so I believe that we can offer candidates the opportunity to work with some of the world leaders in the oil and gas sectors as well as find the best available talent for our clients.”

He added: “The opening of the Darwin office demonstrates a continuation of our service offering to one of our biggest clients in the region, Inpex and provides on the ground support for contractors seeking relocation. There are a number of other projects happening in the Northern Territory, and I expect Darwin to undergo a similar development phase as Perth has done in attracting thousands of people to come and live in the city while developing its infrastructure.”

With offices already established in Perth and Brisbane, NES Global Talent is uniquely placed to provide the first class services needed for the large infrastructure projects occurring around the country.

Marcus Ward, Associate Director based in Perth, commented: “The business landscape in Australia is a rapidly developing one, and with so many new projects coming online there is a consistent skills shortage. What makes Darran’s appointment even more exciting is that none of our current competitors operate in the Darwin market, so we can proudly say that NES Global Talent is the first global oil and gas specialist recruitment consultancy to open there.”

Ward added, “I think the reason we have been so successful in Australia is due to our well trained recruiters, good business ethics and consultative approach. Darran’s appointment will certainly ensure this trend continues.”
