Team makes a mountain out of fundraising

Eight intrepid hikers from Swindon-based IT recruiter Outsource UK are donning their walking boots and getting in training to take part in the Three Peaks Challenge.

The team, headed by Outsource UK managing director Paul Jameson, aims to climb the three highest peaks in the British Isles – Scafell Pike in England, Ben Nevis in Scotland and Snowdon in Wales - in just 24-hours.

They’re being sponsored to raise money for the town’s Prospect Hospice and hope to bring in at least &pound1,500. They’ll undertake the challenge on September 15.

“Paul is planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in October so needs some climbing practice. We’re all quite fit and have done a few 10km runs, but wanted to do something different,” said team member and Outsource UK account manager Claire Farrow. “I’ve always fancied the Three Peaks Challenge so this seemed a really good idea for us.

“We chose to support the Prospect Hospice because it’s a great local charity and I think everyone can relate to the excellent work they do in caring for people.”

The team go for weekly walks as part of their training. Alongside Paul and Claire are Anna Stretch, Tara Davis, James McAbendroth, Graham McIntosh, Ian Wilmer and Katy Gregory. Anyone wishing to sponsor them can do so through their Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/OutsourceUKThreePeakChallenge
