Top industry honour for Pertemps director Roger Englefield

Midlands recruitment giant Pertemps is delighted to announce that director Roger Englefield has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP).

The IRP Honorary Fellowship scheme recognises individual recruiters who have made an outstanding contribution to the industry over the course of their careers.

Roger said: “I am delighted and humbled to have received this Honorary Fellowship from the IRP.

“To be recognised in this way during the 50th anniversary of Pertemps is a wonderful surprise and I am truly thrilled.”

The honour was announced at the recent general meeting of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).

To be considered for an Honorary Fellowship, awardees have to be nominated by three other IRP members and be able to demonstrate both their exceptional personal contribution and a significant track record of working on behalf of the IRP, the REC and the industry.

Roger was instrumental in the transformation of Pertemps into a multi-million pound business.

Whenfounder Connie Watts was joined in the family business by her son, Tim, in the 1970s, Tim – now chairman of Pertemps - enlisted the help of Roger along with Gill Duffield, Mike Owen and Jenny Jackson.

Their expertise and drive saw the company diversify from its foundation in secretarial recruitment into technical and industrial services.

Roger continued: “It’s been an honour and privilege to work for Pertemps and to work with such talented members of staff.

“The business may have grown enormously, but we remain as committed as ever to our principle of putting people first whether they are employees, candidates or clients.

“That ethos is why Pertemps continues to be a pioneer in the field of recruitment.”

Speaking after the conference, REC Chief Executive Kevin Green said Roger received the Honorary Fellowship as he was one of the “real stars” of the recruitment industry.

The IRP awards up to five Honorary Fellowships each year.
