Michael Page Walks 15 Miles For Macmillan

More than 50 consultants from Michael Page’s Sales business came together recently from all over the UK to participate in a 15 mile walking challenge raising funds for its charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support.

Stephen White, managing director of Michael Page Sales says they are extremely pleased to have raised such a significant amount of money for the cause.

“In this one initiative we’ve managed to raise &pound6,200 and had a great time doing it too. Congratulations to everyone involved,” Stephen said.

The event, which took place in Clumber Park - a 2,800 acre park in Nottinghamshire - was made possible by Michael Page’s giving back scheme. The scheme allows each employee to take one day a year to dedicate their time to a charity, community or environmental cause.

Participants in the challenge faced pouring rain in great spirit, kitted out in fancy-dress, and were rewarded afterwards with a lively evening of entertainment.

“We were absolutely delighted to take part in raising money for our charity partner Macmillan, it’s really rewarding to know we are one step closer to our company goal,” Stephen said.

In 2011 Michael Page pledged to fund four Macmillan cancer nurse specialists, to operate in four major cities across the UK. This will cost &pound200,000 which the company hopes to have raised for Macmillan by April 2013.

“As a company we really enjoy the challenge of raising money for a good cause, especially in such a fun way. We have had so many staff wanting to take part that we have actually managed to raise more money than expected, putting us way ahead of our original target,” he said.

So far Michael Page has raised over &pound170,000 by running marathons, holding numerous office bake sales, and recently participating in its annual 25 mile Three Peaks Challenge in Yorkshire Dales.
