Specialist NHS IT recruiter records best financial year as demand continues to rocket

Specialist IM&T NHS interim recruiter max20 has recorded its best set of financial year-ends since it formed in 2001.

max20, the only specialist IT recruitment business solely dedicated to working with the NHS has increased revenues to &pound5.7m, 18% growth over the previous year.

The first half of 2012 saw max20 place nearly 200 staff into new roles, and notch up over 600 contract extensions, doubling the good figures it recorded in 2011 for the same period.

max20 also gained a rank of 13th out of over 400 agencies in the sector based on billable business by the Government Procurement Service’s own figures, which comfortably places it among the ranks of Adecco, Hays and Badenoch & Clark.

Demand continues to be especially strong for specialist project managers and helpdesk/technical support professionals.

Don Tomlinson, who has run max20 since it was formed in 2001, states: “The development of Clinical  Commissioning Groups and Health Informatics Services have helped drive demand. We see continuing demand strengthening irrespective of the general economic conditions.”

Tomlinson continues: “Talented senior IM&T professionals are particularly sort after and since many positions do not now require specific NHS experience, we are getting the message out that skilled professionals should seriously consider exploring the opportunities.”

“For high level opportunities it really is a candidate’s market and we are looking to the private sector to recruit for the many challenging and rewarding positions that are waiting to be filled.”
