BIE Group has beaten more than 150 UK recruitment firms providing work to interim managers after being voted number one by members of the Institute of Interim Management (IIM). The finding is part of the latest IIM annual market survey, which is to be published on 6 September and aggregates data from more than 2,000 interim managers, making it by far the largest and most comprehensive study of its kind. BIE Group chief executive officer Rob Walker said:
“This is a particularly satisfying result because we were rated second in 2011 and fourth in 2010, so the bar for us was already set very high. It’s all too easy to become complacent and slip down the rankings.”
Walkeradded that his firm’s performance in the IIM quality rankings is a result of a concerted effort to strengthen relations with interim managers.
“In 2010 we had a wholesale review of how we interacted with interims, asking some searching questions about what we did and how we could improve our service to them. The feedback we received led to a rethink of how we operate. It’s very gratifying to see BIE’s continuously improving performance in the IIM survey because it’s an indicator that we made the right changes in 2010 that we have managed to sustain and build on them. Clients pay the fees but it’s interims who deliver the assignments. Intermediaries like us are the third point on the triangle and we must maintain strong relationships with both parties to succeed.”
Ad van der Rest, co-chairman of the IIM adds:
“The fact that we are independent places the IIM in a unique position to oversee a comprehensive and objective poll of interim management service providers. In the eyes of more than 2,000 survey participants, BIE is at the top of their game for service quality our congratulations go to them for finally taking the top slot after ranking so highly in the last two years.”
