In the face of growing anxiety surrounding the Eurozone crisis and all eyes looking to economic growth driven by consumption of British products and services abroad, Global Medics, a leading medical recruitment company for doctors, is setting the standards for others to follow.
With an impressive 158% growth in international sales since 2009, its achievements have recently been recognised in the prestigious Sunday Times International Track 200 league table Global Medics was placed at No 15 and was the highest ranked recruitment company.
As one of only 23 companies to achieve triple digit sales growth in the league table, the company’s overseas market share currently stands at 64% of business and sales are being driven by underlying base-business growth and robust emerging markets performance for Global Medics in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. With current 2011 financial results showing overseas revenues grew by 236% - from £9.9m to £2.21m - this success looks set to continue.

We are extremely proud of our achievements at a time when economic forecasts paint a negative view of British business capabilities overseas.
“The majority of our sales revenue and growth can be attributed to our European and Asia Pacific businesses. In particular our European business has gone from strength to strength with a revenue growth rate for 2011 in excess of 200%. This was largely driven by our ability to capitalise on opportunities made available to us by the successful tender for a framework contract in the Republic of Ireland. Our global standing as a recruitment specialist for doctors enabled us to find the best candidates for the jobs from our 50,000 strong worldwide database and deliver a high calibre of doctors to the government’s hospitals. As one of only a limited number of preferred companies chosen, we have subsequently become the largest supplier of locum doctors to the Republic of Ireland.”
In addition, Global Medics’ business in Asia Pacific has grown in excess of 300% from 2010 to 2011. Again growth has been driven by its overseas resourcing capabilities, which enables the company to find the skillset required for any role from its huge global database of doctors. The result is a continual delivery of high quality locum candidates that many of Global Medics’ competitors do not have access to. Coupled with the development of strong, long-term relationships with clients, Global Medics’ headcount for this sector has now nearly tripled since the beginning of the 2011 financial year.
