Hampshire IT firms’ collaboration signals a new approach to IT provisioning

Two Hampshire-based IT support companies have forged a new collaboration to help business customers boost computer security and reduce costs.

The agreement has been signed between global IT services and recruitment provider aap&sup3, which has its headquarters in Southampton, and Vissensa, a European systems integrator and data centre hosting provider with headquarters in Fleet.

aap&sup3 will now be able to offer clients a wider range of IT outsourcing options, with Vissensa leading the development of these new products and services.

The alliance between the two companies generates an integrated range of solutions and services designed to address the &pound18.5bn Managed Services market opportunity according to Forrester by 2014.

The direct client benefits include cost savings on service management and delivery of IT to the business through a “software as a service” model which turns capital investment in IT, into operational expenditure which can be modified depending on the requirements of the business.

Carl Nichols, Chief Commercial Officer at aap&sup3, said: “This alliance is a significant step towards providing our customers and the market with a compelling range of solutions and services geared to address many of the issues business faces today.”

Steve Groom, CEO at Vissensa, added: “We are delighted to be working closely with aap&sup3 whose reputation and business credentials go before them and who will be able to augment many of the products and services Vissensa provides with their own services, allowing a wider market to be addressed through the joint brand.”

The cooperation will help aap&sup3 extend the current capability for desktop management and deployment using IBM’s Smart Cloud Control Desk and Virtual Security Operations Centre, with the addition of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure products.

This will reduce the cost of desktop provision, boost the security of data use and tackle issues surrounding the increasing variety of devices staff use to access company systems.

Vissensa currently operates a successful and growing MSP operation which supports leading commercial organisations and tier 1 financial institutions, and has deployed Virtual Desktop products and services to public and private sector organisations, including universities, colleges, and local government.
