Macildowie Rises To The Challenge

This weekend, members of staff from East Midlands based recruitment specialists Macildowie will be trading in their work shoes and suits for walking boots and rucksacks as they set out to complete the Three-Peaks Challenge.

In total, 16 people from Macildowie will be completing the hike, which will see them climb the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours.

Over the weekend, the team are expected to walk 26 miles and climb over 3,000 metres as they scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden. All money raised from the walk will be donated to Cancer Research.

James Calder, director at Macildowie said:

“I am really looking forward to taking part in this physical challenge. Macildowie has a history of working together to raise money for charity, with some of our members of staff previously running back-to-back marathons. Whilst being highly competitive individuals we have great morale and team spirit and one of our senior consultants suggested it was time for us to take on another challenge.

“Cancer Research is a charity that is very close to our hearts at Macildowie. One of our consultants was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and a number of staff members have been affected in their own lives. Through the Three-Peak Challenge we, as a team, are hoping to raise in excess of &pound4,000 for this great cause.”
