Sanctuary Personnel is up for its third national award of the year

After winning the Best Public Sector Recruitment Company and Best Client Service awards in May of this year, social work company Sanctuary Personnel has been shortlisted for the Best Company to Work For award at the REC’s Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) Awards 2012.

The IRP Awards is one of the most high profile events in the recruitment industry, celebrating professional excellence and the inspirational work of recruiters across the country. Having already been recognised this year for its outstanding client service and commitment to the social work sector, Sanctuary Personnel has proved that it maintains best practice internally too.

James Rook, Managing Director of Sanctuary Personnel, said: “We are extremely proud to be shortlisted for this award. The culture within the company is one of incredible focus and determination to achieve each of our employees is motivated to do well for themselves and their teams, but more than this there is a shared vision across the company to make a real difference to the lives of the children and vulnerable adults that our placements work with. Putting the right people forward for social work jobs has a direct effect on the lives of people – a fact appreciated by all employees.”

Sanctuary Personnel, which has an annual turnover of &pound38million, employs 95 staff and is one of the largest social work companies in Britain. It is the preferred supplier of qualified social workers to more than 170 councils and for the NSPCC and Cafcass on a national level. Further to this, Sanctuary carries out the assessments and fieldwork for thousands of vulnerable children and adults every year.

Sanctuary Personnel is the most accredited recruitment agency within the social work sector and one of the most accredited companies in the recruitment industry. As an Investors in People organisation since 2004, the company has thrived on encouraging, recognising and rewarding the achievements of staff.

James continues: “As a finalist for Best Company to Work For, we are delighted to have got this far. It highlights the tremendous work ethic of our staff, which we strive to maintain with loyalty and security. Fortunately, we haven’t had to make anyone redundant during or after the recent recession however, this is not to say there hasn’t been an increased pressure on the company. Our employees have worked exceptionally hard to maintain Sanctuary’s success and, if anything, the challenging economic times have only made the company stronger.”
