SThree Selects Oracle Exadata to Improve Reliability of IT Infrastructure and Support International Expansion

Specialist Recruitment Company Increases Database Speed by Four Times Using Oracle Solution

Oracle has announced that SThree, an International recruitment company headquartered in the UK selected Oracle Exadata, Oracle Core Technologyand Oracle Fusion Middlewareto increase the speed and quality of its business processes

Oracle will provide SThree with a core technology platform as it works towards its strategic ambition – to treble the size of the business over the next five years through organic international expansion

The new technology infrastructure is a significant upgrade to SThree’s existing IT system, which includes several bespoke in-house systems and hardware running Siebel, SAP for back office and Oracle DB Standard Edition. The system, which previously didn’t have any middleware in place, was fragmented, inflexible and not scalable for global usage

Following the migration of its applications to Oracle Exadata and the standardisation of its 68 disparate databases, SThree has seen an average four times increase in the speed at which its database runs. The upgrade also means that SThree’s consultants can now handle and search documents in non-Latin languages, an integral part of SThree’s business as a global consultancy

To assist with the implementation, consolidation and optimisation phases, SThree installed Oracle Advanced Customer Support(ACS) “Start Up” Services for Oracle Exadata, and opted for platinum support, as well as taking advantage of training credits to ensure key staff were immediately cross-trained

Looking ahead, SThree is now considering the inclusion of Oracle WebCenter Suiteand the Oracle WebCenter Content Suite, which will transform its online presence and enable improved levels of personalisation to enhance customer loyalty. SThree will also benefit from increased scalability and reliability, allowing it to effortlessly move to a cloud model in the future should it choose to

SThree selected Oracle because of the understanding it had of the business, and the natural alignment of Oracle’s messaging and capabilities with the ambitions of the SThree Board

SThree selected a range of Oracle technologies, including two quarter racks of Oracle Exadata and Oracle Fusion Middleware, comprising of Oracle WebLogic Suite, Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle BPM Suite, Oracle WebCenter and Oracle WebCenter Content Suite.
