Unchallenged Employees Set Sights on Land of Dreams

Recruitment firm, DSJ Partners, part of the Phaidon Capital group, have uncovered that the procurement and supply chain industry need to keep a close eye on their international competition, or face losing valuable staff to the USA.

The specialist recruitment firm conducted an anonymous survey of European procurement and supply chain professionals, to understand the likelihood of them relocating and the motivations behind the decision.

The survey, which was conducted online by 124 respondents, 115 of which were based in Europe, found 72.2% likely to relocate with 90% sighting career progression as the main motivator.

61.5% named the USA as their preferred choice for relocation, with Switzerland and Asia following closely behind.

Harry Sliufko, Head of Procurement & Supply Chain at DSJ Partners commented on the survey findings, “I think it’s interesting that the USA still upholds the reputation of a country that can advance careers, the stats show that a large number of staff in Europe can’t see opportunity for progression in the their current roles, a factor employers need to address if they want to retain staff.”

The full report exposes a need for employers to ensure there is scope for progression, otherwise companies face losing their top talent to the USA.
