gap personnel’s “Nomads” secure new shirt sponsorship deal
In 2008, one of the UK’s Top 10 industrial recruiters, gap personnel, had the opportunity to purchase a local football team - Connah’s Quay FC (The Nomads), who play at the Deeside Stadium.
With it’s roots and HO in Wrexham, North Wales, gap’s aims were very simple - to get the first team financed and back into the Welsh Premier League and to get fully involved with the local community and invest in the youth of the area – namely the Connah’s Quay Academy.
The company is delighted to announce that it has managed to do just that and has also secured a new two year shirt sponsorship deal with Lincolnshire based accountancy solutions company Think Accounting Ltd. Football Club Chairman Dave Jones (also the head of IT for gap) said: “This is fantastic news for the club in these difficult financial times and extremely encouraging that such a prestigious company has seen an opportunity to promote their business and their brand in North Wales.”
The sponsorship marks a new phase in the club’s marketing strategy which has also included the launch of a new information and e-commerce website.
Dave commented: “with our promotion l hope we can also encourage further local business interest and support.”
Think Accounting Limited was established in 2009 by Managing Director Lee Wilson with a strategy to take a fresh approach to accounting. They provide a first-class service to thousands of freelance contractors and small businesses throughout the UK by developing bespoke systems and processes that give clients full sight of their fiscals, documents and accounting reports.
They work with a multitude of industry sectors including transport, construction, manufacturing and engineering, education and social care – providing their customers the information they need to empower their business and are the preferred supplier to gap personnel, the team’s owner.
Think Accounting Ltd Operations Director, Symon Cooke, said: “we are absolutely delighted to be the new shirt sponsor for gap Connah’s Quay FC and are looking forward to partnering the club over the next two seasons.” He also added: “this is a fantastic opportunity to expand our products and services into Wales and connect with the local community.”
Club Manager, Mark McGregor, who presented Symon with a framed shirt added: “we are immensely proud of what our football teams have achieved. The players show tremendous
dedication and turn out in all weathers to train regularly. We are delighted that with the generous support of Think Accounting Ltd - the kit allows them to look like the true professionals they are.”
Think Accounting Ltd is also hoping to add their affiliation to the Connah’s Quay Nomads Academy. Symon added: “investing in today’s youth and contributing to the local community is important to us – this is the perfect scenario”
